Here is a picture of Leona Lewis’s performance during the Closing Ceremony for the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games at the National Stadium in Beijing, China. I didn’t think that the London thing fit in with the rest of the show. The sound system was poor. China’s show was so classy and then all the British offer up was a double decker bus and a few musicians?
Jimmy Page and Leona performed the Led Zeppelin classic ‘Whole Lotta Love’ at the closing ceremony, while David Beckham was also on hand for the event… (he kicked a soccer ball out onto the field)
In the original, recorded in 1969, Robert Plant sings, “I’m gonna give you every inch of my love.†But in the version that was sung, Lewis, 23, changed the words to “every bit†of my love. The organizers requested that the band drop the third verse, (they agreed) since it includes similar sexual innuendos, as well as time-wise they needed the song to fit in to the eight-minute performance.
