Lady Sovereign has pleaded guilty to spitting in the face of a bouncer.

The London-based rapper was charged with assault as well as being drunk and disorderly after a night out in Brisbane, Australia, late on Friday night.

She pleaded guilty to the two charges when she appeared before magistrates in the city.

The star, real name Louise Amanda Harman, 23, struggled to stay awake during her morning appearance.

The court was told she reacted hysterically when she was thrown out of The Beat nightclub in the Fortitude Valley area of the city. She is said to have struggled with security staff.

The star, who was once the only non-American woman signed to the legendary Def Jam music label, was fined AUD$400 and ordered to pay AUD$200 compensation to the bouncer.

The magistrate said the court took the spitting offence seriously because of health implications.

She is tonight performing in Brisbane at the city’s Parklife music festival.

Natalie Giraldo, spokesman for the festival, said: “It’s great that she is still able to appear on stage.”

Kylie Minogue’s Spanish fiance, Andres Velencoso, 31, silenced rumours of wedding bells for the pair.

“I’m very good with Kylie. I’m happy. But I’m not planning a wedding for the moment,” he said.

Velencoso, who is rarely quoted in newspapers, appeared in a steamy ad campaign with Minogue for the male fragrance Inverse.

She joined her restless sister Dannii on X Factor in what some said was a bid to boost Dannii’s profile. Kylie applies her judging skills to narrow six acts to three on the wildly popular show.

The show was taped at an exclusive five-star hotel in Dubai, the Atlantis Palm. A source said: “Between them the girls have nearly 40 years’ experience in the music industry, so who better to spot the stars of tomorrow?”

Minogue, meanwhile, is set to tour the US this week, kicking off with San Francisco.

Jessica and Lisa Origliasso would love to move to London, even if they are a bit foggy on its landmarks.

In a video clip that surfaced The Veronicas – singing Australian twins – gushed about Ricky Gervais but were not so clear on the name of the tourist mecca, Piccadilly Circus.

Lisa said: “I really want to meet Ricky Gervais. He’s so funny. He’s the sort of guy I want. I love the English accent.”

The girls said they loved the pubs and Sunday roast, or vegetable roast in Jess’s case.

“We love the cute pubs and the cider,” said Lisa. “We’ve done a few touristy things. I want to do the Jack The Ripper tour. I’m kind of sick and twisted like that.”

They also said that Victoria Beckham’s look would cause them a bit of trouble. Jessica said: “It’s not what I would go for. It’s a bit too ‘done’. She dresses a little too well for us. A little too put together. Fashion is very important to us. We inspire each other. We like to take risks.”

Lamar Odom and Khloe Kardashian are legally married despite reports to the contrary, representatives say.

The pair got hitched at a lavish private ceremony in Beverly Hills after dating for just four months.

“They are legally married,” Kardashian’s representative said. Odom’s rep said: “Yes, Lamar and Khloe are officially married.”

A report circulating on the internet claimed the pair were waiting to set down the terms of a prenuptial agreement before they officially marry.

Beyonce’s people reportedly stopped her support acts from using her air conditioning during a performance at the F1 Rocks gig in Singapore.

The 28-year-old singer performed at the Grand Prix gig in Singapore, where sweltering temperatures came close to 90 degrees.

It is claimed that the Black Eyed Peas and British DJ Seb Fontaine were really feeling the high temperatures but were not allowed to use the air-pumping fans that Beyonce had for her performance.

Seb, 37, performed before the Sweet Dreams star and said: “We were told: ‘No, they are Beyonce’s fans.’ I wasn’t asking to play her drum kit onstage. I just wanted to keep cool.”

Beyonce reportedly had a crew of 70 for the gig and brought along a 139-page rider detailing her requests.

After Mackenzie Phillips’ shocking accusations regarding a 10-year long incestuous affair with her father, her other stepmom Michelle Phillips, is speaking out to dismiss her claims. The ex-wife of the late Mamas and the Papas singer John Phillips says that the actress’ told everyone in their extended family about the relationship in 1997 but claimed that she was joking. Michelle said “She told me, then she called me back and said, ‘You know I’m joking,’ I said it wasn’t funny. Mackenzie said, ‘I guess we have different senses of humor.’” Michelle also reacted to some statements that Mackenzie had in her book saying “John was a bad parent, and a drug addict. But [expletive deleted] his daughter? If she thinks it’s true, why isn’t she with a good psychiatrist on a couch?… Mackenzie has a lot of mental illness. She’s had a needle stuck up her arm for 35 years. She was arrested for heroin and coke just recently. She did ‘Celebrity Rehab’ and now she writes a book. The whole thing is timed.”

Singer Beyonce Knowles was so impressed when she overheard a bar singer in Australia she took her entourage to watch her perform.

Beyonce was cycling around Sydney on Sunday when she made an impromptu stop at the Cruise Bar overlooking the iconic Opera House.

Once inside, she and her friends took front-row seats to hear the vocals of Evelyn Duprai from the Eon Beats Trio band who were performing at an event called Sassy Sunday.

The superstar stayed for 90 minutes and even enjoyed a healthy salad whilst enjoying the show.

Evelyn said: “I was just singing as normal, then I looked up at the entrance and Beyonce walked in.

“She had about six people with her and they sat about two meters from where I was singing.

“I had to be cool and calm down, I’m such a fan. It was nerve-wracking!

“We exchanged smiles and she was there for about an hour and a half. I didn’t speak to her though, sadly.”

A spokesman for the bar said: “We call our Sunday music sessions Sassy Sunday and lo and behold, we had the world’s sassiest singer in as a customer.

“Beyonce clapped wildly at the end. She must have been impressed.”

It looks like Avril Lavigne is so ready to be single again. As it was earlier reported, the Canadian pop punk singer has split from her husband of three years, Sum 41 rocker Deryck Whibley. Shortly after that news broke, Avril confirmed the news via her official blog saying “Deryck and I have been together for 6 and a half years. We have been friends since I was 17, started dating when I was 19, and married when I was 21. I am grateful for our time together, and I am grateful and blessed for our remaining friendship. I admire Deryck and have a great amount of respect for him. He is the most amazing person I know and I love him with all my heart. Deryck and I are separating and moving forward on a positive note.”

New American Idol judge Ellen DeGeneres has called Paula Abdul’s impersonation of her “hilarious”.

Paula, 47, recently quit the hit talent show and was replaced by chat show host Ellen, 51. Paula then impersonated Ellen while hosting VH1 Divas Live and Ellen tweeted that she loved it.

She wrote on Twitter: “Paula – you’re hilarious. You’ve left me some big shoes to fill – unfortunately I don’t wear high heels. Nothing but love for you too.”

On the show, Paula donned a blonde wig and a suit and trainers and said to the crowd: “All kidding aside, [I have] nothing but love for Ellen, and I wish you the best of luck and congratulations on your new gig.”

According to the Nielsen ratings, the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards were watched by 27 million viewers on Sunday night. That number is up by 17% from last year. It covets the title for most watched cable show this year among audiences in the 12-34 age range and its strongest ratings since the 2005 VMAs. Since it was viewed on MTV, VH1 and MTV2, viewership significantly increased on each Viacom-owned channel and I bet that the corporate honchos are loving every bit of it. With all the drama that went down during the show and Lady Gaga’s performance and costume changes, it doesn’t really come as a surprise.

Donald Trump made a comment earlier this week for everyone to boycott rapper Kanye West for his behavior on Sunday night’s 2009 MTV VMAs. The billionaire isn’t the only one who’s been thinking that. It turns out that radio stations are dropping Kanye too. Kiss 95.1 in Florida has dropped all of the rapper’s music from their playlist already. The station’s program director has decided to pull out all of Kanye’s music off the air after he disrespected country singer Taylor Swift while she was accepting her award. The station is now asking listeners if they should keep the boycott or allow his music to play.

They took the stage with house band Wale at MTV’s VMAs show where front man Tyson Ritter debuted a new glittery look. After rocking the proverbial house, Ritter caught up with MTV news
