The people of Australia are looking to pass a “name and shame” law that would require artists to claim ahead of time if they plan on singing live or lip synch through their performance. This comes as Britney Spears arrived to perform 14 concerts while charging upwards of $1500 for a ticket and will not be singing live. Virginia Judge, the Fair Trading Minister and Minister Assisting the Premier on the Arts said “Let’s be clear – live means live. If you are spending up to $200 I think you deserve better than a film clip. The NSW Government would be happy to look at options, such as a disclaimer on a ticket which would warn consumers a performance is pre-recorded.”
