The new Karate Kid movie starring 11-year-old Jaden Smith has triggered controversy in Australia – where it is said to be “too violent” to be seen by young children.

Sony Pictures Releasing, which is distributing the movie Down Under, has successfully applied to have its rating downgraded from an “M” (mature) rating to a “PG” (parental guidance).

The Australian Council On Children And The Media is outraged by the move, and says the remake of the 1980s classic should not be seen by youngsters.

Barbara Biggins, the Council’s chief executive, told The Sydney Morning Herald: “The broad problem that we see with the present film classification system is that it’s based around the age of 15.

“We know that children under the age of five, children under the age of eight and probably children aged 10 to 13 are at different developmental stages.

“They’re going to be scared by different things.”

Corey Feldman has spoken about his pride in Katherine Jackson’s strength since her son Michael passed away.

The former teen star and long-time friend of the superstar made the comments after attending an event sponsored by the Jackson Family Foundation at the Beverly Hilton that brought together the King of Pop’s family and friends.

June 25 marked the one-year anniversary of the Thriller singer’s death.

“It was very nice actually,” the Stand By Me star told Access Hollywood. “I gave a bit of a speech and hopefully I did all right.

“I got a chance to see Tito and he was great, I got a chance to see Mrs Jackson and she was doing wonderful.

“She’s barrelling through it and she’s a strong woman and God bless her. I’m so proud of her for being able to make it through this so steadily.”

USA football hero Landon Donovan makes his first TV appearance since the World Cup – but is given a free pass over the scandal in his personal life.

America’s number one soccer star appeared on David Letterman’s TV chat show just days after stories emerged that he has fathered an illegitimate child while still married, although admittedly separated, to wife Bianca Kajlich.

But Letterman kicked the reports to the sidelines and kept his chat to Landon’s World Cup performance.

“I thought we did a great job,” Landon said of his team’s performance. “This time was a little bit special because we really felt the love back home.”

He touched on the refereeing controversy, being sympathetic to the plight of officials even though he was one of those who suffered the most.

“It’s difficult because we know how fast the game is and as a referee you can’t see everything,” he told Letterman.

He added: “You either need more eyes on the field or some sort of replay.”

Angelina Jolie says she and partner Brad Pitt feel like they “already are” married, but that they are not averse to the idea of tying the knot.

“It’s just like we already are. Children are clearly a commitment, a bigger commitment [than marriage]. It’s for life,” the 35-year-old told Vanity Fair magazine.

The Oscar-winner and Pitt are parents to six children, and the actress has opened up about their children’s distinct personalities: “Mad’s a real intellectual, which I can take no credit for genetically. He’s great at school, great at history. He feels like he could be a writer or travel the world and learn about places and things. Zahara’s got an extraordinary voice and is just so elegant and well spoken. Shiloh’s hysterically funny, one of the goofiest, most playful people you’ll ever meet. Knox and Viv are classic boy and girl. She’s really female. And he’s really a little dude.”

Asked whether the couple would consider expanding their family and welcoming another child, Jolie commented: “We’re not opposed to it. But we want to make sure we can give everybody special time … We want to make sure we don’t build a family so big that we don’t have absolutely enough time to raise them each really well.”

Jolie and Pitt, who met on the set of Mr & Mrs Smith, have discussed the notion of working on another film together, the Girl, Interrupted star said.

“I’d love to. We’ve talked about it. We’d have to figure out who’s going to watch the kids.”

Fans of Hollywood actress Charlize Theron can now get the chance to live in her house – for a mere $50,000 (£34,000) a month, according to reports.

The Monster star, 34, has reportedly put her stunning Malibu beach home up for rent following her split from Stuart Townsend.

The couple – who broke up in January after nine years together – had shared the lavish 2,092sq ft, three-bedroom, three-bathroom property.

The ultra-exclusive home, built in 1930, backs on to the Pacific Ocean and has an outdoor deck for entertaining with sun loungers and a Jacuzzi spa in the master bedroom.

Theron, who has recently been linked to actor Keanu Reeves, is currently working on Mad Max 4: Fury Road, along with Brit actor Tom Hardy.

The film is due to be released in 2012.

He has been wrestling for the affections of Bachelorette Ali Fedotowsky.

But these are the pictures that prove Justin Rego has a SECRET GIRLFRIEND.

The 26-year-old Canadian looked like the cat that got the cream as he smooched pretty Jessica Spillas in Toronto, Ontario.

And the couple did nothing to hide their affection as they strolled hand in hand during a romantic afternoon out.

Justin, who works at a gym in Toronto, roused suspicion amongst his fellow Bachelorette contestants in the very first episode of the hit reality show.

Ali’s suitors accused him of going on the programme to promote his wrestling career and warned her that Justin was not to be trusted.

Ignoring their advice, the Bachelorette appeared won over by the ‘Rated R’ wrestler and handed him a rose to keep him in the game.

But in scenes which are yet to be screened, Ali receives a phone call from Jessica, telling her she is Justin’s girlfriend of a year and a half.

The sales rep also reveals how, unbeknown to her, the two-timing wrestler was also dating ANOTHER girl in Toronto when he signed up for the show.

Ali furiously sends him packing, and these photos suggest he has quickly settled back into his old regime.

Justin and 20-year-old Jessica looked very much in love as they shopped in the trendy Queen Street West neighbourhood of Toronto.

While the wrestler was dressed casually in jeans and a tight-fitting black t-shirt, Jessica looked chic in cropped black trousers, a leather jacket and stiletto heels.

The couple popped inside the Silver Snail comic store, before flicking through the tabloid magazines at a Starbucks coffee shop.

Jessica later tried to drag Justin inside the Condom Shack shop, but he simply laughed and pulled her away.

“Justin and Jessica certainly look like they have patched up their problems,” one onlooker said.

“They were laughing and joking together as if they didn’t have a care in the world.

“They even kissed passionately while waiting for the light at an intersection. It wasn’t the sort of behaviour you would expect from two people who are just friends.”

Khloe Kardashian has hit back at suggestions she did not pay for the $400,000 Rolls Royce she bought her husband Lamar Odom, according to reports.

The gift was reportedly to celebrate the success of The Lakers winning the 2010 NBA championship.

Kardashian’s mother Kris Jenner reportedly told E! News that the 25-year-old had given the basketball player a “brand new 2010 Rolls Royce … drop top coupe, white on white” to mark his team’s win over the Celtics.

There was online speculation, however, that the reality star had allegedly not spent her own money on the gift, Us magazine reports.

Taking to Twitter, Kardashian posted: “People r so pathetic. Y would I give some1 a gift w/ their money? That’s lame. I actually make my own money. Shocking I know. Stop hating!”

Katy Perry related the following about Russell Brand’s passion for soccer: “We were watching the game and I was like messing with him saying, ‘Darling I really want to go outside.’ And he was so caught, he was like, ‘But the game, the game…’ But I knew I wasn’t gonna pull him away from that game. So I just took a nap.” Well, it’s a wonderful thing that Katy Perry is so patient and understanding… but it’s a long championship and it will be a great feat for her patience to hold on until the end.

Ashley Greene finds it hard not to lust after her male Twilight co-stars – because they always walk around semi-naked.

The 23-year-old actress confessed the cast members are always flirting with one another when the cameras are turned off.

“Kellan [Lutz] and Taylor [Lautner] have like 84 abs altogether, so it’s hard not to,” she told US talkshow host Chelsea Handler. “There’s definitely some flirting going around, for sure. They’re walking around with their shirts off.

“Honestly, the guys aren’t asking for it? They’re walking around without any clothes on the whole time. You can only do so much.”

Asked whether she and Kellan had ever hooked up off-screen, she sighed: “No.”

“I tried but it didn’t work out,” she joked.

Ashley, who plays Alice Cullen in the Twilight films, also revealed how she once had an embarrassing date disaster, thanks to “rose petal” nipple shields.

The actress confessed she forgot to remove the nipple covers before taking off her clothes in the bedroom.

“I was at an event, I was walking around, I thought I was hot. I had the little petals on so everything was smooth,” she explained.

“I’d been talking to this guy for a while and it was the first time we were going to hook up. I take off my dress and I’m like, ‘Oh hey.’

“He thought I was an alien basically. He was like ‘There’s something wrong with your boobs.’

“I was like, ‘You’re not into that? No?’ He wasn’t. It was awful.”

Ashley also admitted that her sleek dark hair was not completely the real deal.

“It’s partially fake. My hairdresser’s a magician,” she told Handler.

“Nobody gets up in the morning and looks like this – let’s be honest.”

The singer from Sugababes seems to have quite the passion for yoga… and not just any yoga, but Bikram yoga which is supposedly much like the regular thing, only performed in a sauna. Heidi Klum turned football crazy on a US chat show and ran into the studio blowing a vuvuzela.

The pint-size actor – who is a fan of the vampire movies – says: “It’d be really fun to work with Taylor Lautner.

“We’re both really buff and we can take our shirts off.”

The 11-year-old son of movie stars Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith makes his comments in the latest issue of JET.

He also talks to the US magazine about his parents’ friend, Tom Cruise.

He says of the Knight and Day star: “He’s really good too; he’s good at acting. He does a lot of stunts all the time.”

And the Fresh Prince of Bel Air’s son says he’s not intimidated by his father’s blockbuster success or his mother’s acting career.

Jaden, whose movie recently topped the US box office, also seems to be following in his father’s rap career footsteps, most recently working with Justin Bieber on the single, Never Say Never.

Tiger Woods missed his daughter Sam’s third birthday, only months after telling the world he “vowed” not to miss any more of his children’s special days.

Woods was competing in the US Open in California on the day, while Sam was in Orlando with her mother Elin Nordegren.

There had been earlier speculation that a nanny might travel with the little girl to Pebble Beach where the golfer had been competing so that he could be with his daughter on her birthday.

“It never happened. Instead, Elin had a birthday party for her at the house in Florida,” Radar Online reports a source saying.

Earlier this year, speaking at a press conference, Woods had declared: “I missed my son’s first birthday and that hurts. That hurts a lot and I vowed I’d never miss another one after that. I can’t go back to where I was.”

Woods and Nordegren are said to be living in separate houses about one mile apart and have little contact with one another.

The retired football legend recently commented on the fact that his country’s team refused to attend their training session before their game with South Africa simply because their striker, Nicolas Anelka, was thrown out of the camp due to some words spoken out of anger to the coach. Zidane said the following on the matter: “There are two things that will be remembered from this World Cup … the winner and the fact that the French team refused to attend the training session ahead of their match with South Africa. Even when I was a player, I never gave my opinion on the composition of the team. I was the captain and there was a coach above me and I respected him. I followed the rules and that’s how I think things should be.” France is going to be remembered alright… they seem to have botched things up pretty good this time.

Sadie Frost launched a Twitter attack against her ex-husband Jude Law’s girlfriend Sienna Miller, according to reports.

Frost reportedly left her 9-year-old daughter Iris with Law and the 28-year-old actress when she went to the Isle Of Wight music festival.

Miller is reputed to have taken the little girl to the hairdresser where she had her “long bob” trimmed into a “boyish elfin cut”.

Frost took to Twitter, posting: “I think ya should get ya own child and then cut their hair!”

“Sadie had a great time at the festival but it was all forgotten when she saw Iris’s hair,” The Sun quotes a friend of Frost saying.

“It’s not that the style doesn’t look nice, it does – but that it was done without her permission … I’m sure Sienna was just trying to be nice. But Sadie doesn’t want Sienna playing mum to her kids.”

The FrostFrench designer has since shut down her Twitter account.

America’s Got Talent recently got graced by the incredible voice of Alice Tan Ridley. If you don’t know who she is, she’s the mother of ‘Precious’ star Gabourey Sidibe. Alice sang the classic Etta James song ‘At Last’. If you weren’t able to catch her on the show, the singer/teacher was powerful, heartwarming, beautiful and everything great in between! Former porn star Devon James has filed court papers in an attempt to prove that Tiger Woods is the father of her son, according to reports.

The 29-year-old claims that the golfer is the father of Austin Brinling who was born in 2001. Radar Online reports that she is reportedly trying to get a DNA test for the child to establish paternity.

James was allegedly one of the sportsman’s mistresses and she has asserted that Woods is Austin Brinling’s biological parent.

Austin Brinling is in the custody of his grandmother Sandra Brinling.

James, real name Melinda Jannette Brinling, “has not been allowed close” to her son “because of being deemed emotionally unstable”, Radar Online reports a source as saying.

Previously Sandra Brinling had accused her daughter of claiming Woods was the father for financial gain. “My daughter is nothing but a pathological liar … all she is trying to do is to get Tiger Woods to pay her some money to shut her up,” Radar Online reports her as saying.

“There is absolutely no way that it is Tiger Woods’ son.”
