Madonna has been chosen over Lady Gaga to perform at the Super Bowl halftime show, and sources are saying that the Queen of Pop is thrilled. To wow audiences, Madonna plans on getting back to her roots during the show on February 5th. A source close to the singer said “When Madonna heard Gaga was in the frame, she knew she had to step up her efforts. She is going to deliver the kind of show never before seen in NFL history.” I’m also a little curious as to how Lady Gaga feels about losing to the veteran for a chance to perform at the biggest sporting event of the year.

The top 12 finalists of the US version of the X Factor have finally been revealed. Melanie Amaro, Rachel Crow and Drew Ryniewicz have moved on to the final round from Simon Cowell’s group. Astro, Marcus Canty and Chris Rene made it from LA Reid’s group. LeRoy Bell, Stacy Francis and Josh Krajcik will represent Nicole Scherzinger’s group. And finally, InTENsity, Lakoda Rayne and The Stereo Hogzz will be performing for your votes from Paula Abdul’s group. The finalists will perform live for America’s votes starting on November 2. And starting next week, you can vote for your favorite contestants via Twitter.

The pop singer wrote “Buying the 2 best albums out this year haha! Yeah!!!!” If you’re wondering why she went incognito to buy the CDs, the original American Idol told a fan “I covered myself because I had been on a plane from London and looked like crap.” In other news, Kelly has a couple of huge gigs lined up. She’ll be performing at the American Music Awards next month and at the Z100 Jingle Ball in December.

Bruno Mars and Kelly Clarkson were on hand as the celebrity guest performers on Sunday’s results show of the X Factor UK. “It” R&B/pop star Bruno, who donned a radiant red suit, literally smashed the stage alongside his awesome band with a sensational performance of his song “Runaway Baby”, while the original American Idol Kelly showed off her flawless vocals by singing her latest single “Mr. Know it All”. It may only be the third episode of live performances and results but these two are undoubtedly the best guest performers they could have. I don’t think they can top that but I would love to see them try.

Demi Lovato covered Lil Wayne’s hit “How to Love” during her concert at New York City’s Hammerstein Ballroom and I thought that was just a one-off thing. But it turns out that the pop singer was actually warming up for her VH1 Acoustic Sessions that she taped earlier this week. I absolutely love her cover. Her vocals are just amazing. She’s the real deal guys! I actually think this is much better than Lil Wayne’s original version.

Simon Cowell’s decision to add some new faces to the UK X Factor judging panel is apparently working out very well. So well in fact that the music mogul is seriously considering giving two of his ladies a serious pay raise to come back next season. Simon is reportedly ready to offer Tulisa Contostavlos and Kelly Rowland contracts for next year which would see them getting paid twice as much as they’re making now. How much exactly are they going to get? Something to the sound of £500,000 and £800,000 to Tulisa and Kelly respectfully. Wow. If he wants to pay that much, I doubt there’s any room to argue.
