The front man from Coldplay recently declared that releasing a solo album would be the worst thing he could imagine and it would happen only under the gravest of circumstances. Chris Martin said: “It would probably mean I’ve been dumped by my wife and I desperately need the money. Hell would not only have to freeze over but be skated over and closed up. The Pope would have to declare it didn’t even exist. I cannot think of anything worse.” It looks like Chris Martin really is dedicated to his Coldplay buddies… still, amazingly we see that desperately needing the money and hell freezing over are at around the same level of tragedy in our world.

Coldplay star Chris Martin has admitted pint-sized singer Lily Allen makes him feel like a schoolboy again when he meets her.

Martin, 33, who is married to actress Gwyneth Paltrow, said although she makes him nervous he thinks she is great.

He said: "Lily Allen is fantastic. She’s one of those people who is so cool that whenever I meet her I feel like I’m back at school and none of the girls like me any more. She has the ability to make any boy feel like a t****r."

Coldplay recently won an Ivor Novello award for Best Selling Song for track Viva La Vida, but the band are being sued after a singer claimed they stole the idea for the song.

Martin added: "Now we’ve got more to prove than ever. You think, well, if everyone is trying to take away our best song, then we’d better make 25 better ones."
