While holidaying in Tanzania, the young singer was bitten by a mosquito and contracted malaria, a tropical disease. She has been admitted to the Hospital for Tropical Diseases at University College London. As her doctors say, her condition is quite poor, but she is a fighter and will get through this. First she was admitted to Cromwell Hospital, where she spent three days on the intensive care unit, before she was transferred to the specialists unit. At the moment she is receiving the best care she could get. Cheryl is very ill, and will stay in the hospital for quite a while, but everyone is hoping for the best.
