It looks like Chris Brown may have destroyed both his and Rihanna’s careers as it seems that neither the R&B singer and the Barbadian songstress has been able to make a successful “comeback” with their new albums. To date, Rihanna has only sold 571,733 copies of her newest record ‘Rated R’ while Chris has done far worse by only pushing 258,184 copies of ‘Graffitti’. If you want to add insult to injury, Chris hasn’t really been invited to a lot of gigs and special events and I personally think that Rihanna is losing her steam as a fashion icon. Can anything else go wrong with their careers?

A year has passed since Rihanna’s terrible encounter with Chris Brown and she seems to have moved on with everything, but the singer is reticent on performing at the Grammys this year. When asked who could change her mind about performing at the awards, Rihanna replied the following: “I don’t know. We messed up the show pretty bad last year, so they’re probably a little mad at me right now.” Well, they might be a little mad, but they could get over it. After all, you don’t see Chris Brown have any guilt trips about this or apologizing to anybody. How come Rihanna is the one that feels so constrained about this?

Ever since Rihanna has started telling tales about what happened on the day of the incident and all that followed afterwards, she just can’t seem to stop talking… so Chris Brown decided he would try and help her by providing his own little thoughts on the matter. This is what Chris Brown said: “While I respect Rihanna’s right to discuss the specific events of February 8, I maintain my position that all of the details should remain a private matter between us.” Looks like Chris Brown is getting pretty fed up with what Rihanna has to say… well, sucks for him, but life goes on! Bet he didn’t consider that while he was exercising his knuckles.

The singer had yet another interesting thing to say about her incident with Chris Brown which she now calls a “break-up” and how she coped with it emotionally. For someone who felt so bad about all of the media fiasco created, Rihanna sure has a hard time giving this a rest. Either way, this is what the singer said about one of the songs on her upcoming release: “It’s called ‘Photographs.’ It’s about a break-up, and the only thing you have to show for the relationship is some pictures… making this album was my recovery. It’s the way I vented and expressed myself.” That’s all cute and cuddly, but how could she even refer to what happened to her as being a “break-up”? That’s no break-up, Rihanna, that was more like a “get away from me you sick, twisted man!” and the photographs can’t be that saddening.

In an access of what some might call over-eagerness, singer Teyana Taylor, probably hoping to get a bit more attention for herself, has recently declared that she’s standing by Chris Brown during all of the unfortunate events following the way he treated his former girlfriend Rihanna. This is what Teyana Taylor said regarding Chris Brown: “A lot of people were jumping on different bandwagons and I really felt like that was wack. Before the incident between him and Rihanna, Chris had always been my brother. When we met we clicked instantly from our fashion styles to our love of basketball to dancing to everything. I’ve known him for four years and I was one of the only people that stood by his side when the situation happened.” It looks like Teyana Taylor is barely able to contain herself because of joy for what happened… maybe she’ll have a go at it with Chris Brown too. Best be sure he won’t have any golf clubs.

People magazine asked Chris Brown about the fact that Oprah did “a show on abuse, inspired by Rihanna.” The R&B singer said “I commend Oprah on being like, ‘This is a problem,’ but it was a slap in my face. I did a lot of stuff for her, like going to Africa and performing for her school. She could have been more helpful, like, ‘Okay, I’m going to help both of these people out.’” The talk show host is now firing back at Chris’ comments via her rep, saying “Oprah is very appreciative that Chris Brown performed at her school but she takes domestic abuse very seriously. She hopes he gets the counselling he needs.”

Singer Chris Brown says he is struggling to avoid his ex-girlfriend Rihanna.

The star, who has had a court restraining order placed on him, is worried he will bump into the Umbrella singer as the pair often go to the same places with the same group of people.

Brown, 20, told Larry King: “It’s hard because we’re both in the same industry. We go to the same events. We have to be 10 yards away from each other [at the same event], but I just feel like it’s harder, because we’re always in the same vicinity. Because we have the protection order, it leaves more room for error.

“It leaves more room for people to start rumours and more stuff, like, ‘oh, they’re together. They’re not supposed to be together’. And it just leaves more room for problems.”

Brown’s lawyer Mark Geragos added: “There was an incident in New York where the two of them – unbeknownst to each other because they don’t talk to each other – are rumoured to be at the same hotel. So before we even verify it, I just tell him, ‘move’.”

It seems that Chris Brown’s fate has been decided a lot faster than expected and it is as follows: the singer will get five years of probation and one hundred and eighty days of community service after reaching a plea bargain in his recent hearing. His attorney stated: “He’s very thankful to all the people who’ve been very supportive. This is a kid who’s never been in trouble before, who wants to move past this and make sure that the message gets out that these kinds of things, of domestic violence, are not acceptable. And that he has accepted responsibility and continues to do so and embraces this as an opportunity for him to get his life back on track and his career back on track.” Chris Brown has not been in trouble before this? What kind of a rapper is he anyway? Still, I’m curious to see what community service he’ll be doing for that period because he has a lot of work on his hands.

The singer’s lawyers failed to grant Chris Brown extra time for his preliminary hearing which is scheduled for June 22. It seems that the singer’s lawyers want to be able to access the police personnel files before going head to head with the opposition and they need more time until their request gets approved. It seems Chris Brown does not have that extra time any more and the hearing will go forth as planned. The long arm of the law seems to be reaching out to touch Chris Brown… or slap him, as the case may be. Rihanna’s legal party must be thrilled about this one.

Chris Brown has just pleaded not guilty to two felony counts — assault and making criminal threats. Rihanna was a no show but his mother was praying and crying for him. Also there in support of Chris were 4 bodyguards.

Donald Etra ,Rihanna’s attorney just made a statement saying that she would be pleased “if it [the case] were over quickly” which means she too is hoping for a plea bargain.

Chris is due back in court on April 29th.

Due to the public outrage that Nickelodean did not take the initiative to drop Chris Brown as a nominee from their Kid’s Choice Awards since “the incident” – Chris Brown has removed himself.

This is a good move on his part and that of his PR people who have obviously talked some sense into him. Withdrawing shows that Chris realizes the consequences of his actions.

While Nickelodeon had chosen to let his nominations remain, saying he was nominated before ‘the incident,’ thousands of parents have protested. Despite overwhelming evidence that he did assault Rihanna, he is legally entitled to the presumption of innocence which may have been why Nickelodeon continued to back him.

Then again, the current nominees for male singer are, Jesse McCartney, Kid Rock, and T-Pain. Are they role models? Nominees for female singer include, Rihanna, and currently, is she a role model?

While many agree his musical talent may be award-worthy for nomination, his behaviour in his personal life is not and it is very obvious that his recent involvement in this scandalous situation clearly shows that for the time being, he is no position to be a role model for children.

Chris Brown’s rep released the following statement:

“Chris very much appreciates the support of his fans and the honor they have paid him in the way of nominations for Favorite Male Singer and Favorite Song.

Unfortunately, the controversy surrounding the incident last month has shifted the focus from the music to whether he should be allowed to be among those nominated.

While Chris would like to speak to his fans directly about this and other issues, pending legal proceedings preclude his doing so at this time. Once the matter before him has been resolved, he intends to do so.”

TMZ is reporting that their sources have confirmed to them that the woman who sent the text message to Chris Brown on THE night that resulted in the assault against Rihanna was from his manager Tina Davis. Apparently, it was she who had sent him a 3 page text message to his cell phone suggesting they hook up later. When Rihanna read it, she did the freak (slapped him first) and things escalated from there.

The detective’s affidavit stated the text was:

“from a woman who Brown had a previous sexual relationship with.”

Davis who will be turning 40 years old this month has been rumored to have had a relationship with Chris when he was 16… although both of them have denied it.

Even after receiving thousands of requests to remove Chris Brown from the nominee list, the team over at Nickelodeon are allowing his Kids Choice Awards nominations to remain.

Chris is nominated for Favorite Male Singer and also for “Kiss Kiss” for Favorite Song.

It is very upsetting that the network has not taken a more pro-active stand against domestic violence because the evidence is overwhelming. It not only includes pictures and Rihanna’s own words in the police report, but a text from Brown himself to her manager admitting and apologizing for his actions saying he was going to get help for his anger issues.

E! is reporting that Chris and Rihanna are planning to record a duet together for his Greatest Hits Album.

TMZ has a copy of the protective order that was filed March 5th in Los Angeles Superior Court, showing the document instructing that Brown must not:

“harass, strike, threaten, assault (sexually or otherwise), follow, stalk, molest, destroy or damage personal or real property, disturb the peace, keep under surveillance, or block movements of” Rihanna.

The order expires in March 2012.

Here is Bobby Trendy who showed up outside of the court house to spread some sweetness as only he can do. He brought along his pooch in a stroller.

Rihanna and Chris are supposedly back together, PEOPLE and TMZ are reporting.

It’s just been three weeks since he beat her her up and an insider source told the magazine:

“They’re together again. They care for each other.”

The two of them have been hiding out at Sean Diddy’s home on Miami Beach’s Star Island.

Adds the source:

“While Chris is reflective and saddened about what happened, he is really happy to be with the woman he loves.”

The snitch told PEOPLE magazine’s latest issue that Chris called Rihanna on her 21st birthday one week ago:

“He called to wish her happy birthday,” a source told the magazine. “They’ve reached out to each other. It’s been mutual.”

The L.A. County D.A. will soon be deciding whether to charge him for the alleged assault on her.

This is really such a sad situation. Even though Rihanna is rich and famous it shows she is not immune from insecurity, low self-esteem and the cycle of abuse.

Rihanna has all the resources that most other abused women don’t to get out of an unhealthy relationship. I feel so sorry for all her young fans that needed her to be strong to set an example.

I’m upset with “Diddy” for supporting their reconciliation by letting them hide out in one of his homes which gives them the privacy that their own places don’t have right now. If he cared about either one of them, he wouldn’t have condoned the violence… the rest of the world was telling her to stay away from him.

PR rep Michael Sitrick, who is dealing with the crisis situation involving Chris Brown and Rihanna made a wise move and suggested that Chris take anger management classes. Brilliant attempt at damage control! This past Monday Chris attended his first one in Glendale, Calif. While he has not been ordered to go, Chris taking the initiative to go on his own just may help him appease the court and at least show the public that he is making an effort to seek the help he so obviously needs.

Rihanna will be returning to Los Angeles so that she can attend the March 5th court date.

The Daily News is reporting that because the February 8th assault was his first offence, and even with her testimony, if convicted, he most likely won’t have to do any jail time.

Last night, the photo of Rihanna with the injuries she allegedly got during the fight she had with her boyfriend Chris Brown made the internet. It was such a sad disturbing photo I didnt’ feel right posting it.

Anyways…

The LAPD now has an internal investigation to determine who sold or leaked the picture to one of the major celebrity news sites, TMZ. They issued the following statement last night asking for the public’s assistance :

“The photograph has the appearance of one taken during an official domestic violence investigation. The Los Angeles Police Department takes seriously its duty to maintain the confidentiality of victims of domestic violence. A violation of this type is considered serious misconduct, with penalties up to and including termination.”

Only Harry Levin and TMZ know how they obtained the photo. It may have been someone close to Rihanna’s, so until we are told the reasons why it was released, we should not jump to conclusions.

The one positive that I can see with it being released is that it shows that celebrities are human and also shows the younger fans who idolize Rihanna that abuse is never acceptable. Victims of domestic violence need to tell someone, instead of running back to their “abuser.” It’s a lesson hopefully others who are in a similar situation to hers learn.

Today is Rihanna’s 21st birthday.

Rihanna’s rep issued the following statement:

“At the request of the authorities, Rihanna is not commenting about the incident involving Chris Brown. She wants to assure her fans that she remains strong, is doing well, and deeply appreciates the outpouring of support she has received during this difficult time.”

Chris Brown released the following statement:

“Words cannot begin to express how sorry and saddened I am over what transpired. I am seeking the counseling of my pastor, my mother and other loved ones and I am committed, with God’s help, to emerging a better person. Much of what has been speculated or reported on blogs and/or reported in the media is wrong. While I would like to be able to talk about this more, until the legal issues are resolved, this is all I can say except that I have not written any messages or made any posts to Facebook, on blogs or any place else. Those posts or writing under my name are frauds.”

Well, I’ve been trying not to judge until the truth is revealed as none of us really know what happened, although leaving her on the side of the road alone, after what ‘transpired’ is not acceptable. If he didn’t want Rihanna in the car, he should have called the police, not resorted to fighting and violence.

If the allegations are true and he used excessive force, then he broke the law. Chris and anyone else who breaks the law should be held accountable for his/their actions and be punished either with counseling and community service or jail time. Just because he is young and a celebrity and can afford high priced attorneys, doesn’t mean he should get away with what he did… if he did do what he is being charged with.

Chris can pray and call upon God for forgiveness as that is what God is there for – to help get through the difficult times in life.

Since the arrest of Chris Brown with the allegations he beat up his girlfriend Rihanna, reps for the “Got Milk” people released the following statement:

“The Milk Mustache campaign is taking the allegations against Chris Brown very seriously. We are very proud and protective of the image of the Milk Mustache campaign and the responsible message it sends to teens. Mr. Brown’s ad was launched last fall and is scheduled to end this week.”

First the Wrigley ad, now the Got Milk ad, his bad behaviour is costing him major money, not to mention his legal fees that his high priced attorney Mark Geragos will be charging him.

The D.A.’s office is now on the case but they wanted more information, so it was handed back to the LAPD to investigate further.

Brown has been booked on a charge of felony criminal threats. The D.A. could also file domestic violence and other charges.

Kanye West called into Ryan Seacrest’s show on KIIS-FM, and had this to say:

“I don’t want to speak too much on it, but I was completely devastated by the concept of what I heard. Rihanna has the potential to be, you know, the greatest artist of all time and, in that sense, I feel like she is my baby sis. I would do any and everything to help her in any situation.”

Chris Brown and Rihanna canceled their Grammy appearances yesterday and the reason is because they had a fight that turned physical with RiRi ending up with “visible injuries.”

The picture above was taken earlier in the evening and it was in this rented Lamborghini as they were on their way back to their hotel that they started arguing. They got out of the car, argued, things got physical, she was injured and he split the scene. Someone in the neighbourhood apparently heard her screams and called 911. Police came, pictures of her injuries were taken, and a warrant was then issued for his arrest after the ‘victim’ as she was initially referred to by the police identified him as her attacker.

He was then later driven to the police station by his high powered celebrity attorney Mark Geragos and surrendered to LAPD on Sunday evening. He was taken into custody at 6:30 p.m. and was officially booked at 7:41 p.m. He has been charged with one felony criminal threats charge after an alleged assault and his bail was set at $50,000. If the D.A. files the case, domestic violence charges may possibly be added.

The bail was paid and Chris was released shortly after being booked. The vehicle is still sitting in an impound lot. Since it was a rental, Chris is going to have to pay the rate of 2k a day until it is released.

Reps for Rihanna, released a statement saying:

“Rihanna is well. Thank you for your concern and support.”

Update on Rihanna’s condition:

TMZ is reporting:

“that her injuries were severe — two “huge contusions” which swelled up on both sides of her forehead. We’re told she also suffered “a bloody lip and nose.”

One of the law enforcement people put it this way — the contusions “look like an MMA fighter or something … [It] looked like she was growing devil’s horns.”

More info just released from TMZ:

As we reported, the photos show major contusions on both sides of the singer’s face — there is serious swelling and bruising. Her lip is split and her nose bloody. We have now confirmed there are bite marks on one of her arms and on several fingers.
