Jessica Simpson’s The Price of Beauty will be getting a facelift for its second season and “is being retooled”, according to reports.
In the first series, which racked up just one million viewers when it premiered in March, Simpson travelled the world with friends to learn about the meaning of beauty in different cultures.
But the second series of the show may itself get a new look, with the show shifting its focus to Simpson giving people makeovers.
“VH1 is in talks with Jessica for a series on beauty and image,” a source close to the project said.
“We are here to stay with Jessica and are committed to this journey and this message with her about women, self image, etc… all through Jessica’s totally unique and unfiltered lens. We are really excited about the next step, which we will announce soon and will air on VH1 in 2011,” a spokesperson for VH1 told Us magazine.
Previously, the singer had raved about her globe-trotting experience, likening the show to doing: “missionary work”.
“I’m not saying I’m changing the world,” Simpson said last month.
“But … to be able to sit with my dad and [create] Price of Beauty… It’s similar to missionary work. It was what I was called to do and called to be.”
It looks like too much time has passed since the pretend relationship with Billy Corgan and it was high time that Jessica Simpson found the next love of her life. Well, it’s not official yet, but it probably won’t take too long either. The singer was recently spotted with actor Jeremy Renner. A source made their intentions pretty clear: “Jeremy spent the night hitting on Jessica like crazy They were really flirting up a storm!” It certainly doesn’t take Jessica Simpson too long, does it? In this respect it sure does look like John Mayer has a bit of moral ground to crawl up to since the legs are missing.
A source close to Jessica Simpson says that despite the reports, the singer is not actually dating Billy Corgan. The source said “Jessica loved spending so much time in and out of the studio with Billy. She’s in awe of his musical prowess, and it adds to her feelings for him, but they are not dating. Dating Jessica publicly can be intense. Billy maintains a quiet, private music-focused life and the taste of publicity he got while being with Jessica was an eye opener. Billy likes Jessica, but he will work to keep their relationship as it is and focus on the music. They are not getting serious, but Jessica has had so much fun with him.”
The former boy-band singer has recently suffered a great tragedy: his ex-wife’s dog, that he got for her, has been eaten by coyotes. Nick Lachey said the following about his loss: “I think a lot of people forget that Daisy was my dog too – for years. I’m sure she was upset. I was upset.” However, he did manage to get over the whole thing: “I didn’t reach out to Jessica. It was sad to hear that had happened, but it’s part of the cycle of life.” Nick Lachey perhaps wanted Jessica Simpson to face the consequences of her irresponsibility. How do these dogs get to be eaten by coyotes anyway? Still, it is true that being eaten alive is part of the circle of life.
Jessica Simpson may have been dumped by Tony Romo but that’s not stopping her from welcoming a new romance in her life in the form of a new fragrance called ‘Fancy Love’. Just a bit of a segue, how cheesy was that? Anyway, the newly single 29-year old failed country singer said in a press release “Romance has never been more important to me so I wanted to celebrate that special feeling with this new fragrance.” Her first perfume ‘Fancy’ had nearly $50 million in retail sales in its first year. This is probably the only thing she has been successful at.
The singer has great expectations from her upcoming reality TV show, “The Price of Beauty”. Jessica Simpson is quoted as saying the following about the upcoming TV show: “I have always believed that beauty comes from within and confidence will always make a woman beautiful, but I know how much pressure some women put on themselves to look perfect. I am really looking forward to discovering how beauty is perceived in different cultures and participating in some of the crazy things people do to feel beautiful. I know we will all learn a lot on this journey and I am so excited that VH1 is coming along on what I’m sure will be a wild ride.” Yeah, reality shows are always wild rides… they wouldn’t really have any audience if they weren’t. You’d never think they were actually directed under these circumstances.
Jessica Simpson has been getting more than her share of negative publicity this past couple of weeks. First it was for gaining some weight, then supposedly her boyfriend Tony Romo was partying in her house with some hot brunette while she was out of town working, and the latest critique is for the sub-par performance she put on when she opened for Rascal Flatts in Grand Rapids Michigan last night.
Apparently she was close to tears, forgot the lyrics and barely made it through a pathetic 38-minute set of songs.
As she opened up with “These Boots are Made for Walking,” she was seen fumbling with her ear monitors as she tried to keep them in place, saying she was having difficulty hearing herself.
At one point, she had her seven-piece band stop, then start over, during “Pray Out Loud.”
As if that wasn’t bad enough she then forgot the lyrics to her single “Come on Over,” and she apologized to the audience.
Making it worse when she was introducing her closing song, “Do You Know,” she even said there have been times when she felt like walking off the stage — “like tonight.”
When she closed off with her last song, she thanked her band for “having her back,” and it appeared she was crying and wiping her tears as she exited the stage.

Word is what might have set her off is that her boyfriend missed his flight that night. Poor girl, we all have days/nights when things go wrong, it must be that much more embarrassing when it’s all caught on tape.
Her rep had this to say to TMZ today:
“Jessica had an off night. She’s a perfectionist and wanted to start some songs over. She always wants to give the best performance for her fans.”
Jessica Simpson stuck out her tongue to the audience as she performed a multi-song set during the “99.9 KISS Country Chili Cook Off” today at CB Smith Park on Flamingo Road in Pembroke Pines, Florida.
Chili Cook Off fans were entertained by country singers performing and Jessica sang her little heart out along with Alan Jackson, Jason Aldean, Justin Moore, and Little Big Town.
I’m not loving the tongue shot, but I am loving her double leopard print belt, although if I do say so myself, she is at an embarrassingly low grade event to wear such a stylish accessory!
Jessica's Country Album Debuts At No.1 On Country Chart
Jessica’s album Do You Know has hit No.1 on the country music charts as well as debuted at No.3 on the Billborad Top 100. Death Magnetic by Metallica was No.1
Jessica’s album sold 65,000 copies its first week, compared with her last album which sold 101,000 its first week. Metallica’s Death Magnetic sold 490,000 copies.
I do believe that there were no other new country albums debuted the same week so… it’s not really that much of a big deal.

Um, Pete Wentz asked John to be his baby’s godfather. How crazy is that… you think they wouldn’t even go there after he broke Jessica’s heart. I think it would be pretty disrespectful if they did. I guess we will have to wait and see. I am not a fan of his new shaved head either. He probably thinks he is all ‘hot’ with his new sleeve tat, and that shaved head. What is he trying to do go for the Michael Scofield look? Next thing we know and he will have his whole body tattooed.

Jessica Simpson is over the moon about her friendship with her longtime idol, Dolly Parton who recently collaborated with her on her upcoming debut country album.
Her first meeting with Dolly was a fiasco because of how badly Jessica messed up a tribute to her at the Kennedy Center Honors in 2006.
Jessica said about that first meeting:
“The very first time that I met Dolly was after I completely tortured ‘9 To 5′at a tribute for her, and I messed the lyrics up. My boyfriend had broken up with me that day. I couldn’t even focus on stage and I was in front of the President and everybody. Afterwards my chin started quivering and I just started crying and then I walked off stage and I said, ‘I will never absolutely never sing again — ever in my life.’
Afterwards Dolly was like, ‘Don’t you let that get you down. I wanna hear you keep singing,’and I was like, ‘I am so sorry,’and she was like, ‘I don’t even want you to apologize. Let’s take a picture and we’ll end up working together some day.’Then she wrote me a letter ’cause all the media and the press were really, really hard on me, and I knew that that was gonna happen. She even went as far as to say, ‘I will always love you,’and I just cried and cried reading the letter that she had sent me, but it was so encouraging.”
What a gracious woman Dolly is, and how sweet of Jessica to have talked about one of her most embarrassing momeents in life! Dreams really can come true!
Everyone is saying that Tony Romo and Jessica Simpson have broken up, but then I am seeing pictures of them all over the place. Here they are having dinner at N9NE in Dallas. Why would they be having dinner together if they were broken up? I think they are totally a couple, and just started rumors so people would talk about them. You know that celebrities love it when people gossip! Jessica is like an endorsement for Tony, without her he is just some stupid sports player.
Jessica Simpson and Ken Paves continue to promote their fake hair line. I secretly want the long straight extensions just to see if my dried up hair would look any better if I mixed it in with some glossy fake goodness. Somehow I know deep down that it will look terrible, but I can’t help but still want them! If the hair was like 30 bucks I would have bought it (at least for halloween) but the fact is that its about 150 bucks in canada and I just can’t be bothered. I would rather have a nice Guess purse.
Jessica Simpson tried to recreate Virna Lisi’s March 1965 Esquire cover, and lets just say it went worse that Lindsay Lohan Nude Marilyn cover.
Jessica looks very manish compared to Virna’s. Having a woman shave on the front of a cover is a pretty odd idea if you ask me. The whole reason for reproducing it was they are doing a ‘iconic covers’ for their 75th anniversary.
Did Jessica not look at this and think why do I look like a man. If you see how Virna did it, she has one eyebrow up and her mouth looks cute. Jessica has this weird look going on and is actually shaving like a man (you know how they tilt their head to look closer in the mirror…).
Jessica Simpson apparently filmed a workout tape, to show how she got in shape for her Dukes of Hazards movie and then had regrets about it. She decided against the release of the video by not signing off on the final approval and now the Speedfit owner Alex Astilean has reportedly said that Jess and her dad “hurting millions of fat people in America.†Jessica apparently signed a multi million dollar contract for the release of the video and Alex wants his money. He isn’t just suing Jessica, he is also suing her manager/father about the loss as well.
I really hope the tape leaks! I would totally dance with Jessica to burn off my love handles! Here is Jess at her prime, although her ribs in this shot do kinda scare me.
It’s been awhile since any of us have had the pleasure of watching her on the tv, but that may be about to change soon! “Newlyweds†was a huge hit, and rumour has it she and her people have been in talks about bringing her back to the small screen.
She has been in the studio recording her upcoming country LP – and her father who also happens to be her manager had this to say: “With Newlyweds, she let everyone into her world. Then she had to shut the world out. Now she can open it up again so people can see, here’s a girl struggling with self-esteem and finding her way. Country music is about storytelling, after all.”
Interestingly enough Jess’s rep had this to say on the subject: “They’re in talks with CMT for a special timed to air when the album is released, but there’s no truth whatsoever to there being a reality show.”
When all else fails, go country! Jessica Simpson will be going head to head with Carrie Underwood, and Shania Twain in the near future. I wonder if she will come out on top or flop like she did at the box office. One thing about country fans is they will stick with you where pop/rock fans change their taste through the years. So maybe Jess will get a new fan base.
Jessica says “I am a country girl, I grew up in Texas, and country music was what I listened to. I always wanted to make a country album, but I wanted to wait until the time was right.”
One thing is for sure, she does look very hot in her daisy dukes!
A source reveals some juicy gossip about John Mayer and Cameron Diaz.
“This was technically not their first time hanging out…they’ve hung out together with friends before. But this was the first time together like this. It’s new and developing…but they really like each other and it went well.â€
Cameron Diaz and John Mayer are dating! What an odd pair. Cameron is quite the cougar she is always going for younger guys! She is 34 year old, and John is only 29!
I guess we will have to wait and see what will unfold with this relationship. Personally I think John Mayer is an a*s! I think Cameron is way too sweet for him, but then again Jessica is sweet and she seemed to hack it out for quite awhile.
Apparently in September Jessica Simpson will be recording a country album starting in September! I am sure her friend Willie Nelson will lil be featured on the album. I think Jessica will have better success with country fans because of her roots and her strong vocals!
Leanne Rimes better watch out, because Jessica dominate especially in her old Daisy Duke shorts!
