It seems that the singer was very inspired by one of Ozzy Osbourne’s old albums, “Crazy Train”, so much so that she wanted to fully embrace its ideas as her own… but apparently never managed to. This is what Beth Ditto said on the matter: “My mom was a big rock fan and, growing up, in the south as I did there’s not too much to choose from. I remember being excited by Pink Floyd’s ‘The Wall’ and Patsy Cline. When I was a kid I really wanted to become a hippie and join the Peace Corps, and that was down to hearing the Mamas and the Papas, but the real soundtrack from that era in my life was Ozzy.” Right… and the fact that stopped Beth Ditto from going through with her plan was? Maybe it was the music industry… no self-respecting hippie could ever be a part of that. Well, Beth Ditto seems to have made her choice and it has served her well.
