The singer recently performed at the World Music Awards, but at a very high cost to the organizers, it seems. Jennifer Lopez had a number of requests in order to concede to the performance and these included a helicopter on stand-by, a specially equipped speed-boat with diamond plated headphones to take her from Cannes to Monaco and other some such things… but she turned down the offer for a butler. Jennifer Lopez probably didn’t want to appear too cocky. But really, wouldn’t it have been cheaper to just bring Mariah Carey over? It’s not like the music would’ve been too different.

The singer recently came out and confessed that she really doesn’t care that people criticize her for showing off her body since she is proud of her small figure. This is what Shakria said on the matter: “I’ve grown as a woman and if I want to show my legs in a video, does that make me less of a thinking person? I don’t think so. I’m actually very proud of my short legs. They take me to places. Actually when you’re short, people feel pity for you, so you can get away with a lot more stuff. If I was tall I’d be in big trouble.” Oh, if only it were Shakira’s legs that really sparked all of the controversy. But hey, it might be so… you don’t hear anybody complaining about Lady GaGa’s videos. And Shakira’s “getting away with more stuff” idea… well, that doesn’t really show her to be the brightest pea in the jar.
The singer recently stated that after she manages to finally conceive her new album she will take upon herself a new endeavor of fertility, namely to bear children. It seems Shakira is willing to go for two children, but her boyfriend Antonio de Rua would like three. I’m sure he’s already seen the cover of Shakira’s new album… that’s why he probably wants three children, but even that might prove to not be enough. And the album’s title, “Loba”, which means “she-wolf” ought to get things going too. You have to wonder about the nature of the lyrical themes on the songs… you know, considering these circumstances.
The singer who gave birth to twins Max and Emme last February recently admitted that her upcoming release was very profoundly inspired by the fact that she became a mother. Jennifer Lopez said: “I worked on music while I was pregnant and while I was at home, but now to really get into it and focus on it and to finish the project is exciting. You can’t help but put not only your kids into it, but to put anything you are going through in your music. That’s the only thing you can really sing or write is stuff that you know. The more music you make and the more that you get into it and the more you write, the more you realize that’s all you can write.” Jennifer Lopez probably has a good point here… and given the preponderance of but a few themes in popular music these days, it would seem that singers really have very limited life experiences, wouldn’t it?
